When you say “victim of domestic violence”, most people think of abused women or small children. Yet the problem affects a much wider range of people – seniors, e.g. are among the most vulnerable ones. This affects young homosexuals as well, who struggle with pressing issues they find difficult to overcome. People who live with a feeling of being persecuted, prostitutes bullied by the police or violent customers. All of these individuals have appreciated new counselling centres and help lines offering assistance free of charge. The help line for people at risk of domestic violence had received more than 6,000 phone calls by the end of the project alone; on-line counselling for young homosexuals was used by 1,500 girls and boys, while 17,775 seniors made a phone call to the senior help line from October 2014 to December 2015.
